Dell enters small screen devices space

                                 Dell launched its tablet, the Streak, in India here on Tuesday. Unveiling the new device, which sports a 5-inch touch screen and which runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset, Mahesh Bhalla, Executive Director and general Manager, Consumer, Dell India, said the new device “marks our entry into the small-screen devices space.” Dell's Android-based tablet, priced at Rs. 34,990, was aimed “to put the whole world into a five inch screen,” said Mr. Bhalla. The Streak, positioned as an entertainment device for people on the move, could display high definition videos, play music, act as a navigation device using its GPRS capability, apart from enabling Web browsing and e-mail, he said. It has two cameras, one for video calling and the other, with a resolution of 5 megapixels. Motorola Charm to be launched in India soon

Bangalore: After the U.S. and Canada, Motorola will soon be launching its fourth Android smartphone 'Motorola Charm' in India market soon. The handset maker has already introduced three Android smartphones in the country - the Milestone, the Backflip and the Milestone XT720. First launched in the U.S., Charm is a candy bar style full QWERTY featuring smartphone, which comes with Android 2.1 and Motoblur interface. It has a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display and 3MP camera.  The phone is also loaded with key features like 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, BackTrack touch panel, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio and 3.5mm headset jack. It has internal memory of 512 MB and includes 2GB MicroSD card. The Motorola Charm is expected to retail somewhere in Rs. 15,000 range in India.

Bangalore: Sony Ericsson has launched a new watch-sized device that enables you control your smartphone remotely, without taking it out of your bag. The tiny gadget can be worn as a watch, on a keychain or clipped to a laptop, the firm claims. The LiveView micro display is designed to sync wirelessly with any mobile phone and lets you take calls and e-mail and control your music player. The gadget is designed to work with Google's open platform Android software which means it won't work with the iPhone or even Sony Ericsson's own high-end Xperia smartphone. It even comes with a 'Find my Phone' feature that helps locate your missing Android device, the Daily Mail reported. Some gadget experts have said that the innovative device is what Apple should have done with its latest iPod Nano, which some users have taken to wearing on their wrists.
